Resale, unbeknownst to many, is a kind of test tube for emerging trends in fashion. Somewhat recently (as in a year or two ago), cowboy boots had come in and left the store in record numbers long before the Bryant Park fashionistas and Sienna Millers of the world were sporting them.

Before the recent runway shows for the Fall ’06 lines, and long before this week’s Bryant Park shows, slim was in and people were scooping up the every pair of slim horse-riding pant, tapered slack and tapered culottes that came in. Now everyone is waking up and asking us for more… “Sorry honey, they were all gone six months ago!”

We’re noticing a new trend and we’re not being timid enough to call it. Are you ready? Is it burning inside you to know? The beginning of a certain Hermes trend is making itself rather apparent. People have been bringing in scarves and ties in droves. And while both are selling briskly, the spike in the number of people willing to part with their Hermes lovelies has certainly struck us. The venerable Birkin and Kelly desirability hasn’t waned. We turn them over in under a week consistently.

Another emerging trend, has been the desirability of Pucci which we have had a trickle of for some months. Look for the incredibly vivid colors and abstract almost-Kandinsky-meets-Mondrian designs to bring out the uber feminine and lady like fashions of the ’06 Cruise lines and ’07 Spring lines…
